Learn how to make your application more secure.

How to make a View secure

Making a view secure means that a username and password is needed to access your application view.

Step by Step Guide

1. Go to the VIEWS tab and open a previously created view.

2. Tick on the IS SECURE checkbox. Enabling this would make our application view require a username and password whenever it is accessed.

3. Click on the UPDATE button and UPDATE APPLICATION button.

4. Launch your application by clicking on the LAUNCH VIEW button. You should now be redirected to a login page.

You now have made your view secure.

How to set which Views are available for a particular User Type

You can set which views can be accessed by a User or a User Type.

Step by Step Guide

1. Go to the USER TYPES tab and then click on a User Type you wish to edit.

2. Under Options, you can see the list of views that you have created. Select a view that you want the User Type to be able to access by clicking on the MOVE RIGHT button or clicking on it twice. You should see it get transferred to the Selected box.

3. Once done, click on the UPDATE button to save your work.

You now know how to set which views are available for a particular User Type.

Some elements may be added to records to assist with the management of the record, but they may not need to be visible to the users.

1. Open the Type and Section where your element you want to hide is located.

2. Open your element by clicking on it. A new tab should appear

3. Under the DESCRIPTION field, check on the HIDDEN checkbox. Activating this would enable you to hide your element.

4. Click on the UPDATE button to save your element.

You now have hidden an element.

Access to an element can be modified based on the kind of User Type. User access can be limited to edit/modify, read only, or hidden/restricted.

How to Create User Types

User types are the classifications of the users in your application. Some users can be classified as admins or employees which will be given admin or employee privileges and can be classified as visitors which can be given limited access and privileges to your application.

Step by Step Guide

1. Go to the USER TYPES tab and then click on a User Type you wish to edit.

2. Choose a name for the User Type

3. (Optional) Put in a description for your User Type

4. Choose the Type that this User Type belongs to.

1.Go to the USERS tab and click on the NEW User button. A new tab should appear.

2. Choose a username and password for your user account.
